MacGroup: Konfabulator and widgets
Boy am I confused. Prior to installation of Panther Konfabulator and
widgets resided in my applications folder. After Panther, Konfabulator
and widgets showed up in
myharddrive//users//shared
But in the widgets folder of my applications folder there resides widget
folders which contain subfolders labeled contents and .plist files and
resource folders which contain .psd (Photoshop) files and other assorted
files.
I assume the shared folder is for applications which are shared among
users of my machine. And they get put there when I install them and
select share from the install menu.
I also assume that when I installed Panther it moved widgets (but not the
above mentioned support folders) (which were in my applications folder)
into the shared folder but it failed to tell me so!
Can I throw away all those support folders/files from my applications
folder? Or should I move them to the shared folder? Or should I move
everything out of the shared folder and back into the applications folder?
By the way, I downloaded an updated version of Konfabulator, installed it
and it resides in my applications folder and the widgets installed with I
now reside in:
myharddrive//users//me//documents
All I know is I've got widgets coming out the ying yang in 59 trillion
different places and I don't know what I can move, combine, or throw
away. The anal retentive part of my soul wants to do a search on widget
and trash everything containing that word and trash Konfabulator and
start all over again.
So what can I safely do?
Thanks for listening.
